What's Up With Liz These Days?
(November 2018 edition)

It's time for my annual November update to reconnect with those who energize me, inspire me, and make me laugh. That'd be you.

I hope this note finds you full of gratitude and in good health. This past year, I've had both of these, plus the exciting challenge of building a business that lets me live out my values. Here's what I've been up to lately:

I VALUE LIFELONG LEARNING...
So earlier this year, I completed my coaching certification with the Coaches Training Institute, which means you’ll see some new letters after my name below. I also earned the designation of a Designing Your Life Certified Coach. I’m now trained to offer individual and small group coaching to those who want to design a life they love with the techniques from the best-selling book Designing Your Life.

I VALUE EDUCATING OTHERS...

Luckily, I've had the privilege of teaming up with colleagues at the Stanford Graduate School of Business as a course facilitator for two courses in the LEAD program: Leading Effective Teams and Foundations of Leadership. Also, I’ve joined on as a contributing writer for Idealist Careers to guide social impact professionals on career topics. My first two articles (on infusing your values into your career and getting over the fear of finding a new job) appeared this month.

I VALUE SERVICE...
So I joined a pro bono team at New Sector Alliance to craft a strategic plan, served as an advisory board member for Farming Hope (doing amazing work in food justice in San Francisco) and participated in an Impact Experience gathering in Georgia.

I VALUE CONNECTION...

And I get to live this out every day by coaching amazing people actively seeking out experiences and careers that make them come alive. They are courageous, reflective, funny, and out to change the world in their own unique ways. And they've selected me as their coach, which is truly an honor.

This year has been about being a part of mission-focused, highly productive, supportive and authentic teams. Thank you for being a part of my extended team!

WHAT'S NEXT?

I'm adding a new project into the mix in 2019 and would love your help. If you (or someone you know) are a solo entrepreneur building a small business around something you love, then I’d like to hear about the challenges you’ve faced. I’m creating some business building / journaling / goal-setting tools for small business owners just like you. Complete this quick survey to share your experience, or pass this email along to a friend who might be interested.

As always, I love to hear from friends around the world, so drop me a line to catch up. In the meantime, I hope this fall finds you taking full advantage of nature in your neck of the woods.

Most of all, I hope you're making time to pause, reflect and imagine what's next with a curious mind and an open heart.
